MY professional activities span a FIFTY YEAR involvement in the entertainment Industry in the areas of sound system engineering, acoustical measurements, AUDIO systems design, production management, and technical direction. Various theatrical production companies and entertainment venues have utilized MY services both in TECHNICAL DIRECTION and VARIOUS SOUND engineering and design capacities. 

I HOLD both Bachelor and Masters of Fine Arts DEGREES from the University of Arizona'S College of Fine Arts. my focus of study was in technical theater and the hearing sciences. I was awarded research funding from the University of Arizona HONORS COLLEGE. in May OF 1996 I presented MY research on ANECHOIC acoustical simulation at an international conference in Italy.

I was a member of the Audio Engineering Society and the former chairman of the Southern Arizona chapter. I WAS a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees for 35+ years and have served as president and business manager for iatse local 415.

MY work history also includes masters and journeyman classifications in arena and theatrical rigging, a.c. electrical, audio engineering, acoustical measurements, and skilled in various fabrication and design disciplines. I hAVE a strong background in concert sound mixing, CONCERT sound systemS design, and various acoustical measurements and simulation platforms.

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE:

        Provided project management services for large-scale commercial SOUND SYSTEM installations.

·       Reviewed project goals and objectives with the project manager and design team.

·       Analyzed project feasibility and costs prior to drafting designs.

·       Devised overall strategy for documentation and identified the sheets planned for each stage of the work.

·       Managed and led a multi-disciplinary team throughout development and contract document phases.

·       Created, printed and modified drawings in AutoCAD.

·       Kept the project on schedule and within budget while serving as project leader.

·       Verified that construction detail documentation conformed to quality assurance and best practice standards.

·       Recommended minor adaptations and modifications to complete working drawing sets.

·       Created new and innovative approaches to problems and discussed them with project managers.

·       Communicated with all other vendors and contractors and incorporated their input into project designs.

·       Attended team meetings to resolve technical and project issues, coordinate with team members and review projecT schedules.

·       Created and updated project cost analysis spreadsheets.

·       Coordinated with clients, consultants and contractors during construction bidding.

 

PRODUCTION Experience

·       Audio engineer for several international concert tours with various world-class artists.

·       Experienced HIGH STEEL arena rigger, stagehand, and electrician with journeyman classifications.
